Donald Trump's Immigration Ban
As President, Donald Trump plans to enact an Immigration Ban that would affect people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. People from these predominantly Muslim nations are prohibited from entering the United States. Trump claims the ban is to eliminate foreign terrorism in America and keep residents safe. Currently, there is a freeze on the ninety-day ban Trump temporarily put on the entry of people from the seven countries and the one hundred and twenty-day ban on all refugees. Ultimately, the decision of whether this executive order passes is up to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In many ways, Trump is right. Our vetting system does take an extraordinarily long time and many immigrants find themselves waiting decades before their citizenship is granted.
