It’s 11:59 pm and the world is about to mark an important day in history. April 29th is here. It has only been 100 days. But what has happened in these past 100 days has left confusion, frustration and a torn country. History in this case, is hardly defined. News reporters, TV stations, journalists, families and the American people argue whether these first 100 days have been successful or unproductive and irresponsible. As President Trump shoots for par at his private golf course in Florida, taxpayers find their pockets draining 21 million dollars rapidly. But more executive orders than any other president in the past few decades have been passed in the same span of time. Meanwhile, Trump tries to propose a tax plan to eliminate tax breaks,
There is no way to know if it will cut spending and depending on who you ask, will give you a different answer to whether or not the retirement 401k accounts will remain exempt from taxes. This contradictory argument is what is hovering over the American people. The confusion is an epidemic and there are strong arguments on both sides. With 100 days to judge, the country is left to argue which side is correct; 100 days successful or not. The inauguration of President Donald Trump took place on January 20th, 2017. This marks a new year, new president, and new hopes for change. What America does not hope for is a confused and more in-debt America. We needed a new presidency to strengthen relationships with our allies, not make our nation seem vulnerable and strengthen terrorist groups. I am able to view both perspectives and look at how different genders and people of different races view the subject. But, in the end I have formulated my own opinion about President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. I believe that Trump is able to keep his campaign promises that are reasonable. His proposed border wall is proven to be ineffective both in keeping illegal immigrants from entering the country and is not cost effective. The postponement of the urgency of this idea shows that he has the potential to admit his wrong doing and move on to think of better solutions. This is progressive. I believe that his efforts with the transgender community and constitutional rights are respectable and the future of America can finally exemplify equality. This potential to Make America Great Again gives me hope that Trump will be able to make a difference. Right now, he may seem like a self-centered businessman, but having a less politically corrupted leader could bring about the needed change. A new personality in the white house has left our nation confused and impassioned. We have become so adapted to the normal political ways that past leaders have gone about handling situations. Donald Trump, in my opinion, is dynamic and tough and is not afraid to make big steps towards what we, the American people, want to see implemented.
