The producers of this commercial knew its target audience and went after it. It had a strong attention getter. Right from the beginning this commercial had my attention and maintained it throughout the entirety of the advertisement. It had strong appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos. This commercial worked for me, but for others I can see how this commercial came up short in getting their attention. For example, my views towards the music choice, the girl, and scenery corresponded well with what I wanted to see, but if you asked my mother about the commercial I’m sure there would be a completely different reaction to the commercial. In fact when I was watching the commercial in class in preparation for writing this analysis the girl who sits behind me watched the commercial over my shoulder and said that she thought the commercial was “ stupid”. It wasn’t until this moment that I realized the importance of pathos, ethos, and logos and how different each person’s appeals truly…
Often varying in message and purpose, commercials and advertisements have proven to be successful forms and methods of mass communication. The goals of advertisements is to appeal to their target audience in an effort to encourage or persuade that demographic to purchase their products and become their customer. Some companies may even have more than one commercial in an effort to reach and persuade those that are outside of their usual demographic to begin purchasing their products. Not only taking into account the obvious message, it is important to also analyze and look into the subcomponents, such as imagery and dialogue, that makes conveying their message successful.…

“Let’s make the world a softer place, let’s snuggle.” The commercial uses a father and daughter doing the laundry at home like any other ordinary day, the first said ten seconds and then the five seconds after comes up an enthusiastic talking bear named Snuggles the face of company selling the product. This commercial attempts to hook viewers’ attention by informing all the advantages if using snuggles softener. The setting and graphics used in the commercial are quite well aligned with the product into manipulating the viewer to buy the product they are advertising. They have been around for years they’ve become experts at advertising their products and have obtained successful results and many happy customers, they clearly know what to feature on the screen to get whoever is watching hooked into believing this is the only brand that will leave your clothes not just soft but snuggly soft. DQ 2: Select a commercial or advertisement with which you are familiar. Why is it effective or persuasive?…
This years Superbowl commercial I picked was the Mountain dew puppy monkey baby because it was catchy and kind of weird and that's why I remember it. In the beginning of the commercial it starts off with three guys who are sitting on a couch and want to go out. Until one of the guys say " I think I just want to chill tonight" and that is when a weird looking monkey comes out and keeps saying " Puppy monkey baby."…
A good advertisement must consist of the mode known as logos, ethos, and pathos. The best advertisement will consist all three knowing that it will align with the human emotional and logical mode of thinking in order to fully persuade what the creator want the receiver to act upon. The millennial generation have the highest level of trust in advertisement (Nielsen). Majority of the content created by marketer is directed toward children. I chose the Best Buds Budweiser commercial for my essay. I think it was a sensitive commercial that targeting many different audiences. The commercial had a variety of appealing items. This product not only has a wide variety of audiences it also appeals to emotions, it creates a bond and has many benefits over other types of beers. This commercial seems display more care about the audience then the beer itself although it is present in the commercial. This commercial is not what it appears to be, it comes as a surprise when you find out it’s a Budweiser commercial.…
Every time I watch the Superbowl, I find myself (under the interrogative look of my friends) bitching about the effectiveness of “xyz” commercial that somehow succeeded in producing laughter among the audience. Then I start explaining that too often the joke becomes bigger than the brand and when it does, chances are you will most likely remember the punch line than the advertiser. If you just invested $2.6 million for a 30 sec. and everybody misses the point, it’s a huge waste of money.…
Super Bowl 51 had many commercials that were all very expensive to put up. But it's so expensive because it's some of the best advertising a company can get. The commercials are normally entertaining and keep people watching them and so it is great marketing for companies and they all use entertaining commercials. It was widely diverse with companies advertisements. Here are two of the most persuasive commercials.…
The giant multi-million fast food company “McDonalds,” made a recent advertisement for the “Big Mac” the ad includes a mix of transfer and bandwagon advertising techniques. The slogan is that “There's a Big Mac For That,” they lace a tune in with the slogan to emphasize the product, also they add a rapper saying the phrase over and over again. The advertisement also uses bandwagon by using a variety of different people, and different situations so that every viewer watching could connect to. The advertisers incorporate transfer by using many ecstatic people, and every clip includes a successful event and someone eating the sandwich. For example, the advertisers use a clip showing someone winning a football game, the kids today can connect…
Now that we have seen that advertisements are very effective we should talk about how they are effective. When I hear someone say that an advertisement is funny that’s when I know that the advertisement is quite effective. Then there are the ads that are very boring and kind of stupid, those are the ones that are very ineffective.…
All commercials appeal to a person using at least one of three ways: logos, pathos and ethos. When I think of an ad that displays pathos, I think of the disheartening commercial for the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). It is an advertisement that is on TV often whose purpose is getting its audience to support its cause through donations. Because the video shows such resilient emotional appeal, it more effectively targets women who tend to be more susceptible to sentimental propaganda than men. The video is saying that many animals have been helped, but more has to be done. There are still animals out there in need of being rescued from their abusive homes. More donations are needed. The…
As each day in life passes by, there are new products coming out, new charities being formed, and new problems that arise in the world around us. Therefore, new advertisements are constantly coming out to promote products and grab people’s attention. As we flip through magazines and TV channels, there are some advertisements that catch our eye and some that we just pass through. An effective Ad is one that makes you stop flipping the page; one that really makes you think.…
I think When Pigs Fly is the best ad. This commercial is intriguing and can appeal to all target markets. It shows how hard someone would work and far they would go to get a bag of Doritos. It holds…
