Rhetorical Analysis Alcohol Can End Your Party As each day in life passes by, there are new products coming out, new charities being formed, and new problems that arise in the world around us. Therefore, new advertisements are constantly coming out to promote products and grab people’s attention. As we flip through magazines and TV channels, there are some advertisements that catch our eye and some that we just pass through. An effective Ad is one that makes you stop flipping the page; one that really makes you think. A very powerful Ad that makes you stop and take a second look is from the Stop Now Association, an organization dedicated to the prevention of alcohol abuse. The Stop Now association is part of Soul Fast advertising company. The agency comes from Uruguay and sustains a non-profit organization with nothing but original and capturing advertisements. This particular advertisement came out in October of 2010. It was a very big hit and you can find many reviews on it online. The advertisement consists of a dressed up young woman, bending over and throwing up long, colorful party streamers. The woman is leaned up against the wall while wearing a party hat in a room that is covered with confetti. There is also a noisemaker on the ground along with her fashionable brown leather bag that is behind her. In the top right corner of the Ad, right about the woman’s head, is an upside down beer bottle that represents a giant explanation points with the text “Alcohol can end your party.” Below this is a telephone number; 1-800-STOPNOW. This Ad not only gets the point across, but also is also very easy for most teenagers and even adults to relate to. The picture takes place in what looks like a very well decorated, modern house.
