I chose the Best Buds Budweiser commercial for my essay. I think it was a sensitive commercial that targeting many different audiences. The commercial had a variety of appealing items. This product not only has a wide variety of audiences it also appeals to emotions, it creates a bond and has many benefits over other types of beers. This commercial seems display more care about the audience then the beer itself although it is present in the commercial. This commercial is not what it appears to be, it comes as a surprise when you find out it’s a Budweiser commercial. The audience of this commercial is men, women, children, beer drinkers, and football watchers. This commercial is shown to men knowing that men drink beer. This commercial was also shown during the super bowl knowing men will be watching football and the commercials. It is shown to women in hopes to get an emotional response. This commercial creates a sad and happy feeling knowing the puppy is missing and the owner is looking for him. It creates another sad moment when the puppy almost gets attacked by wolves, but the horses save the day created a happy mood. This commercial didn’t completely relate to the beer they are advertising, but they show their logo at the end and it is also shown on the mans hat. The appeal of this commercial overall makes it more attractive knowing they are sensible makers of beer. The main purpose of this ad is to entertain but also to show their product. The commercial shows the relationship between the horses and the dog, indirectly stating you can count of Budweiser to be there for you when you need it, hence the name “Best Buds”. This advertisement shows a heart warming tale between a puppy, horses, and a man. It shows your best friend will always have you back in any situation. This commercial is entertaining and

The producers of this commercial knew its target audience and went after it. It had a strong attention getter. Right from the beginning this commercial had my attention and maintained it throughout the entirety of the advertisement. It had strong appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos. This commercial worked for me, but for others I can see how this commercial came up short in getting their attention. For example, my views towards the music choice, the girl, and scenery corresponded well with what I wanted to see, but if you asked my mother about the commercial I’m sure there would be a completely different reaction to the commercial. In fact when I was watching the commercial in class in preparation for writing this analysis the girl who sits behind me watched the commercial over my shoulder and said that she thought the commercial was “ stupid”. It wasn’t until this moment that I realized the importance of pathos, ethos, and logos and how different each person’s appeals truly…

The commercial uses the element of ethos to appeal to authority. The commercial does this by using a physically attractive male who immediately demands your attention at the beginning of the commercial by commanding “look at me; now look at your man, now back at me”. This immediately builds up a sense of respect and authority from the speaker, and helps build up the credibility of the commercial.…

The quote “For some, the waiting never ended. But can change that,” reflects urgency to make change. Towards the end, the advertisement message says that drinking is not always a use for seeking pleasure and damaging for those who take precautions when doing so. Unlike other beer commercial where those companies promote more sexual theme. Whereas, Budweiser strayed away from that trend and found a way to reel in new customers and shed light on drunk driving. To make advocate drunk driving even more Budweiser used a character who showed the characters of an everyday…

The ad starts out by creating a serious mood by using a gray, cloudy, and cold scenery. The lights in the bar are dimmed. There is rain and snow in the commercial which are known to set thoughtful, dour, and sometimes sad moods. The commercial used these details to have the audience want to keep watching to see what happens next, therefor it keeps them from skipping the ad. In the article of Making Sense of Ads stated that advertising researchers devote large sums to testing consumers’ responses…

The Budweiser company also uses rhetorical appeals to draw in the consumer, The "Friends are Waiting" ad is no exception to this advertising technique. The idea that their very loved pets need to be cared for properly prompts a consumer to provide for the pet, and storytelling is a great tool in making sure they remember exactly what brand they should be buying. This ad successfully elicits strong emotional pulls from the pet owner towards the pet, placing heavy value on the pet for the owner’s own happiness and peace. The brand will not soon be forgotten by a consumer, after such an emotion rich story, which is exactly the outcome an ad dreams of having. The Kal Kan ad is a great example of emotional advertising, using Pathos, by way of memories and peaceful music, to compel the consumer into caring about the health and comfort of their pet, and storytelling to ensure that the brand people remember, when out buying their future with their beloved family member, is…

Throughout the entire commercial Ford shows all these different scenarios where children, parents, and even cats are in situations they cannot get out of. By choosing those certain people and animals, it appealed to America’s emotions. As well as to those single parents locked out of their house or the little boy who wrecked his tricycle calling for his moms help. They use children and pets to their advantage, due to the fact that people will always find pets and children adorable and cute. Especially with humor added to it, as well as sympathy because it may seem painful and stressful.…

The commercial, “Lion,” opens with a mom, a dad, and their new baby girl in their living room. Their pet dog approaches the newest family member, causing the baby to cry. To calm her down and make her smile, the mom gives her a stuffed lion. The golden retriever walks away sadly and watches the now joyful family from afar. I chose this Heineken beer commercial because it fulfills the four requirements of popular artifact for narrative analysis and it demonstrates how popular culture plays a role in shaping our way of thinking and living. This video of Heineken beer advertisement portrays a unified story with more than two events, which are related and organized by time. The effectiveness of this advertisement depends on the audience’s pre-existing stereotypes that may have formed and reinforced by popular culture.…

Animals which are used in advertisements usually don’t have any or much relevance to the products being advertised. An example of this is the adverts for Dulux Paint, which uses an Old English Sheep dog in their adverts. They have used this breed of dog in their adverts since 1961 because this breed of dog has been used for so many years people associate it with the Dulux Company. The adverts catch people’s attention and as the dog has no relevance to paint products and therefore people will discuss the adverts. Another example of animals having no relevance to the product in which they are being advertised is the Andrex adverts, they use Labrador puppies in their adverts for toilet paper. When the adverts first came out, Golden Labrador puppies became extremely in demand. However some of the people who were buying the puppies had done little to no research about the dog. The appeal of owning a Labrador was having a small, cute dog. However many owners didn’t realise the size that they would grow to, many owners then re-homed them as they grew larger.…

The reason we weren’t as aware of animal cruelty was because this entire social media was not as common as it is now, this new technology, the whole phone apps, you can find out someone’s life in just a click of a button even if they are on the other side of the world. It is way too advanced, in a way it benefits us though let me tell you why. Because of social media we get to see citizen reporting’s of cases happening in their community, for example; they see something wrong with a dog tied up in a tree with a 10lb. chain, no shade nor water what are they going to do? Take out their phone and snap a picture for evidence, once they take it, too Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. they begin to write a whole article of what they saw and believe and the friends start commenting, liking, and sharing so that the friends of their friends can see as well. TV shows are another resource that can show you how to look for signs of animal abuse on animals which in my opinion is great idea because no animal deserves to suffer. The ad is perfectly invoking that sorrow type of emotion, because it makes you feel just as the horse…

The organization of this PSA helps grab the attention of many viewers and makes the visual clearer. The vibrant orange color always helps draw attention and brings enthusiasm to the public announcement. A black banner calls attention to the shocking statistic: EVERY 60 SECONDS an animal is abused. The use of all capital letters drives home the astounding frequency of animal abuse. A white background emphasizes the subject of the ad, a dog. The author provided the company's name, so the audience is capable of searching “ASPCA” in order to donate to the great cause. Viewing the little dog with such an innocent and pitiful face makes everyone wants to help and donate to such a caring and selfless organization. The visual cues of the dog’s body language– the pulled back ears, the dark, wide, saddened eyes; the tilt of its head drooping slightly to the side– allows the viewer to infer the abuse and neglect that this dog has been subject to. Anyone that watches T.V. knows about the heart wrenching commercials the ASPCA plays with the purpose of finding caring individuals to contribute to their cause. Most can say that they have given into this cause because they wanted to help out the defenseless creatures that were unable to defend themselves. The sorrowful commercials can really touch the hearts of many lives. The advertisement’s audience is…
