Down syndrome
Down syndrome is a genetically transmitted disease, the symptoms of this disease can vary depending on the person, but children with Down syndrome have unique physical characteristic traits for example: decrease in muscular tone, excess skin around the nape, widened nose, among others. Some mental characteristics are: impulsive behavior, short periods of attention and slow learning.
Some of the disease’s effects are: pulmonary hypertension, vision or hearing problems, thyroid problems, intestinal abnormalities, seizure disorders, respiratory problems, obesity, susceptibility to infections and risk of childhood leukemia.

difficulty with the development of the brain and body. This person will have 47 chromosomes and not 46 that are normal. This disease is more common in boys, studies showed that 106 to 125 boys have Down syndrome for every 100 girls. (Husita A, 2009).
There are many famous people who have this disease one of these is Chris Burke he is a American Actor and a great singer of folk, many people best know him like “Corky” he was born on August 26, 1965 (New York), now a days he is 48 years old. He got his first job at the ABC TV movie and then performed “Life goes on” with this character called Charles Corky.
