Dr. Dre is a music artist, producer, 6 grammy award winner and founder and owner of Beats Electronics. Hip-Hop music, technology and entrepreneurship all come together through Dre. Dr. Dre is the founder of Beats Electronics which are high quality headphones and speakers used all over the world. His musically talented knowledge of sound brought together with technology of HDMI cables from Monster, Inc. grew into business ownership and success. Isn’t it interesting how music, technology and business can all come together through a pair of headphones and one musical artist? Dr. Dre’s birth name is Andre Romelle Young. Dr. Dre came from a family with a musical background as both of his parents were singers. Shortly before Dre was born his mother Verna quit her group the Four Aces. His dad was in a band called Romelle, and this became Dr. Dre’s middle name. After Dre’s parents divorced he lived with his mother who remarried several times. Dr. Dre started his career as a DJ in his teens. His first major success came with the rap group N.W.A. He co-founded Death Row Records in 1991.
