Dr. Seuss’s Art Have you ever considered winning awards and writing books, art? Well, it is. Dr. Seuss wrote amazing books and was nominated for, or won, many awards. But, just imagine being a little kid. You love to read and you love to see colorful characters in books. If, as a kid, you loved seeing colorful characters, then Dr. Seuss’s books are the thing for you. Dr. Seuss was a well-known author and award winning artist. He won many awards due to his book and movies. In 1995, Dr. Seuss’s book Daisy- Head Mayzie was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for the animated version of this film. In addition, Daisy- Head Mayzie was nominated for the Annie Award for the best music in the field of animation. In 1982, the animated version of The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat won a Primetime Emmy Award. In 1980, Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. In 1978, Halloween is Grinch Night won a Primetime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Children’s Special.” Dr. Seuss joined the army after Pearl Harbor was attacked. While he was in the army, he made educated films for them. Two of the films he made won Academy Awards.
