Drew was scared to look down to see what he tripped over, but eventually he did and regretted it right after. A head was on the floor. Just the head, nothing more, the

Man is born to sin; expect no release of it in this battle we call life. A clear example of one man’s struggle stands out among the rest. Setting aside the human condition of sin, Job stood as a supreme being still only being a man; who in spite of his troubles, questioning, and doubts, held fast in his devotion and love to God. In the end, Job is vindicated for his faith and devotion. Within this brief paper I will attempt to tell of Job’s story and its meaningful example to be followed by us all. As devote Christians our trails and sufferings should be viewed, as seen in Job 's experience, as a witness not only to God 's sovereignty but also as a witness to His goodness, justice, grace, and love to the secular world which awaits our fall. Let us now turn to the book of Job, always remembering that sometimes the lesson to be learned is much easier heard, than it is to actually bear.…

“Do you remember what made you fall?” His eyes continued their roaming across my face. “I don’t know, I must have just lost my balance. It must have been that. I just fell,” he turned away to grope for something among the pillows, “that’s all.” Then he glanced back at me, “I’m sorry about that feeling I had.” I couldn’t say anything to this sincere, drugged apology for having suspected the truth. My adolescent legs strain as I continue along the path aimlessly, my stomach rumbles in emptiness as I realise I left without food. How can one think of such things at a time like that? I most certainly didn't, and now the only thing dwelling in my gut was the sore pain that was the increasing hate for the cruel beings that raised me. Lost in my thoughts my melancholy walking pattern is disrupted as my foot catches on a thick branch and I fall swiftly face first into a small jagged rock. Dazed, I lift myself up from the ground and dust myself off; my left eyelid closes automatically as blood rolls down the top of my face. Cursing, I wipe my face with my sleeve, soaking the cotton a blackish-red instantly. The shock dissipates and pain sets in, sharp agony mixed with a strange tingling sensation on my forehead. I forcedly push the pain to the back of my mind, and go to take my next step just as a small blue spherical object reflecting the moon catches my eye on the edge of the track. Interested, I walk over to it, and pick it up in my hands. After examining the dirt caked ball, images of my younger brother flash through my mind. Times spent together, kicking a ball in the backyard, taking him to his first movie, and then screams of pain, blood, oh god the blood is.... The ball drops to the ground as my hand trembles from the horrible images. I kick it far away off the trail in anger as Im reminded of the situation Im in. The smoky scent of a…
