Children’s safety, wellbeing and development is the primary goal of the Australian government and any person who aspires to work with children in an educational setting such as a school, afterschool care, day care centre or a child care centre needs to have a police clearance and must have an ocra card or any other working with children card depending on the state they are working and must also have a first aid certificate before joining the workforce. To get the best outcome for children in their early years, the early childhood education sector and the educators must imply the National Quality Framework (NQF) and EYLF (early year’s framework) designed by the Australian government to make continuous improvement in education and care services throughout Australia. Educational program and practice, children’s health and safety, maintaining the positive physical environment, maintaining sufficient staffing arrangements, working on building relationships with children, working collaboratively in partnerships with families and communities and leadership and service management are seven quality standards set up by the …show more content…
Early childhood education system in the early 1800’s education was treated as a luxury as it was only offered to people who are wealthy or was available through volunteer tutor. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) comprises a set of Welfare Requirements and a set of Learning and Development Requirements, which must be followed by providers of care for children below 5 years old – the age of compulsory education in the United Kingdom.
