Educational Mission Statement
The purpose of this assignment is to compare and contrast an organization mission statement and philosophy with an educational institution. According to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, 2012), states that mission statements help to describe the organization’s purpose for existence. The mission statement aids in clarifying what the company does along with their intentions (SHRM, 2012). It is noted as an organizational goal to provide care aimed at recovery as opposed to just symptom and disease management. The Recovery Model of Care is a geared to affording people the opportunity to take charge of their personal care. Both organizations strive to enhance the quality of life for individuals through education and knowledge. The organizations equally incorporated the premise of individuals thriving within their communities into their philosophies. One main focal point for the Guidance Center is based on the notion of Recovery, which places the individual as the driving force for their plan of care. In contrast, the University of Phoenix provides for a team approach in guiding the student toward their expected goals. The Guidance Center expects their employees to deliver high-quality care at all times.
