The cause of African Slave trade began with the need for cheap labor Europeans wanted people for work, but did not want to spend a lot of money. Most Native American people had died from disease brought over, so instead they took African people and put them to work. They knew that African slaves knew how to farm and were very knowledgeable with the land. They were taken aboard ships on routes such as the triangular trade or middle passage. They
were worked to death, but Europeans did not care as the profit they made on slaves was put to buying more slaves. The African Slave trade had however affected the world in huge ways that are still seen today.
The effects that African Slave trade had on society was mostly negative. First of all, the racism had started. Originally slavery and the slave trade had not been about race, but purely about work and money. When people began to question if slavery and slave trade were right, the idea that their lives were less important was created. This has affected the world greatly as racism is still current today. Another effect is slave revolts. Slaves soon got sick of being traded and worked. They began to do anything to get away from this life. This began a huge amount of revolt that caused death for many. Also, many African slaves had died. Even on the boat headed to slave trade, many passed and those who didn’t got worked to death. And because of this millions pf slaves died. Although most effects are bad, there were a couple good effects. As a result of all these slaves coming to the Americas, there culture also came. African American culture is still alive all around the world in the forms of music, writing, and more.
Although African Slave trade was a bad thing for the most part in the Atlantic World it still is a part of history never forgotten. The Europeans need for labor at a cheap price had started many negative things in society. Slavery over all had been a terrible thing with terrible outcomes.
