He was child of Vernon and Gladys Presley born at Tupelo, Mississippi on January 2,1935. His twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn .He relocated to Memphis, Tennessee with his family at the age of 13. Elvis graduated from Humes High School there in 1953. His music career began there in 1954, when he recorded a song with producer Sam Phillips at the legendary Sun Records. Elvis was influenced from pop and country music, the gospel music which he heard in church, the all-night gospel songs which he frequently attended. The year 1956 saw Presley turn into a international sensation.
What drew the attention of people towards him was his sound and style that uniquely combined his diverse musical influences and blurred and challenged the social and racial boundaries of his time.
