Human nature is part of everyone, which is why I believe that the discontented includes everyone. The discontented are the people who are always searching for something more gratifying than the last deed they accomplished; however, the future only belongs to the discontented who act on their discontentment. For example, when people notice that something is wrong with their lives or the lives of others, they can only change the future if they act to change the situation for the better.
The American Dream embodies this quote, and I agree with it. Who does not? As my former principal at the Florence Freshman Center used to say, “Hard work pays off!” Because of my own past experiences, I can attest to his saying. Since its founding, America has been the land of opportunity, and thousands of people have stormed to the country to better their lives. Even if the majority of them did not become wealthy, the country still held onto the sentiment, and it exists today. Nowadays though, many other countries around the world offer better opportunities for people, but foreigners still want to come to America. I believe that this ideal has helped the people everywhere to work harder and push for a better tomorrow. This ideal takes the determination in all of us and pushes it to the forefront.
