Engaging in meditation was my first transformational practice. I specifically chose mantra meditation as the form to undertake. Although mantra meditation techniques may vary, I decided to focus my attention on the repeated chant of the “Om” mantra and let my mind become as free from thoughts as possible. The idea is to free yourself from negative thoughts and find peace of mind, which can potentially offer a variety of benefits . It was my hope that these benefits would specifically include reducing stress and improving my sleep quality. To this end, I practiced the mantra meditation 3 times a week.
