In Enrique's Journey, Enrique faced many different challenges to acquire in the United States to be reunited with his mother. Enrique almost subsided in many different occasions, he got robbed of the little possessions he had, and almost died on the ‘Death Train.’ Enrique had no one by his side, he had no one to help push him further. So, he pushed himself and he tried and tried again. He never gave up and so it was all worth it in the end.…
Ernesto's mental journey becomes clearer towards the end of the movie. It shows that he has changed and now has realized he can make a huge difference in many others lives. At first in the movie he and his companion do whatever it takes to rest and eat because at this time all they were concerned about was traveling around America. As more time passes, Ernesto gets incredibly serious and starts to show much concern for the people they meet. An example is when they meet the older gentleman and he asked them to take a look at the lump on his neck. This was when Ernesto told him that it was not just any ordinary lump, but it was indeed a tumor. Ernesto then suggests he go to the hospital, while Ernesto's friend tells the man it's nothing just so they can have a place to stay for the night. I believe this was a very bold move for him because it cost them their shelter for the night. By doing this he really demonstrates that he himself is more concerned about others lives then petty things, such as where he will sleep for the night.…

For my personal response assignment I chose A Lone Journey by Aakash Pirani. This story was about a ship sent to space with a bunch of sick people and one captain whose name was Captain Lone. This captain was sent out to space with no one to talk but an emotionless A.I computer, after 263 days without contact with another human Captain Lone could not handle it and committed suicide. I noticed in this story that it really explains the sadness of being alone and not being able to talk or connect with a human being. Also in context with reality this how people feel alone in the middle of space no one to communicate with and it makes them want to quit and maybe just give up and not feel the pain of having someone to talk, someone to love.…
