entertainment stars are overpaid
There is a heated dispute over whether the career as entertainers, such as films stars, pop musicians and sports stars, is overpaid. In my opinion, I am in favor of this view.

It is generally recognised that individuals who can perform, sing or play good sports are paid by high salary. There are a number of reasons which might explain why they get paid that much. Firstly, entertainers bring in enormous profit for the companies they work for through door recipes, TV deals or merchandise deals. Correspondingly, the high salary is a reward for the contribution. Secondly, entertainment industry is so popular and profitable, with a large number of fans and audience paying to their profit. Accordingly, entertainers are supposed to afford them high level of enjoyment and amusement. Lastly, those stars' working lives are relatively short due to the intense competition. They are consequently replaced by younger or more energetic generation.

Unfortunately, professionals in other fields, who make a much greater contribution towards human society, are paid much less, when compared with the high incomes of celebrities and sports stars. Doctors, nurses, laboratory researchers are never known as high income careers. However, they are so much more imperative to our well-being and our future than those stars who could earn fortune in short period of time.

In conclusion, I think that there may be some reasons explaining why entertainment stars earn high salaries but overall I am convinced that they are overpaid. Those who bring greater benefit towards our society should be more appreciated and better paid.

The salaries of professional and collegiate athletes have always been a matter of debate. How much or how little athletes are being paid, and how it affects the sport, has been in countless discussions between players, fans, reporters, agents, and sports analysts. Some believe that players don’t deserve huge contracts, and most players that have huge contracts are overpaid and it hurts the sport. Then again, others feel that players work hard for their contracts and most athletes deserve their money. My stance on the issue is probably the same as most fans, and different from most owners. The sports industry racks in huge sums of money every year and if athletes aren’t receiving that money, most likely the owners and commissioners are collecting most of the money. I personally feel that the athletes are doing the most work therefore; they should be getting paid the most. I understand that a lot of work goes on behind the scenes when it comes to sports, but it’s unfair to athletes to give most of the money to owners while the athletes are doing all of the hard work.…

Are professional athletes being paid too much? According to Charles Ray, athletes are making a lot more then they should be. Some players are making more then a brain surgeon would, yet the athletes don’t have to go through the pressure of saving lives. The money they’re getting paid could most definitely go to a different cause, instead of paying excessive amounts to hit a ball or shoot a basket.…

The article “Do Professional Athletes get Paid too much Money” is written by Mihir Bhagat a senior analyst. Bhagat believes professional athletes make too much money. In his article he explains the amount of money someone is paid should be based on the economic importance and value of the job for society (1). He thinks playing a game isn’t very important when it comes to society (1). Bhagat states that teachers and even the president of the United States get paid less than professional athletes. The article then lists some of the other workers that are paid less than professional athletes such as firefighters, police officers, military workers, and doctors.
