Introduction
Background
Aloe barbadensis is usually cultivated in warm climates. It has over 250 species and only 5-6 kinds are used for medicinal practices. It is one of the most frequently used aloe plant.
According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, aloe vera was used only to heal wounds and for various skin conditions. But nowadays, it is used in different ways, like for traditional remedy for a variety of conditions, including diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, and osteoarthritis. It is also used for burns, sunburns, and psoriasis. Aloe vera gel can be found in hundreds of skin products, including lotions and sunblocks. It also consists of fleshy leaves that contain a transparent gel. This gel is used in a diversity of products. It is commonly used as an ingredient for shampoos, conditioners, and soaps; it can help for the hair growth. Aloe vera is used as food but it is not commonly known, it can be used or mixed with various drinks and foods, mostly desserts. Aloe vera dessert is a very common recipe that is both tasty and quick to make. It is very good to consume fresh than packed. The packed aloe vera desserts are stabilized and contain some additives. But these are very good for people looking for a good aloe vera dish and do not have time to make one. Aloe vera dessert is a combination of aloe, lime and sugar it is very healthy because it contains a lot of nutrients even if aloe vera is bitter to taste.
Aloe vera is a nutrient rich, succulent plant. This makes it a very useful plant to eat. Aloe has all the necessary nutrients in its gel, although the outer leaf cannot be consumed. All desert plants are very much rich in nutrients. Most cacti are consumed as food in desert areas. Even though aloe vera's uses as food are little known, there are some recipes that can make aloe vera suitable for eating. It is even used as staple food in many parts of the word during famine times.
