I believe that everyone deserves equal access to healthcare. Having said that, I personally know many people in our community who still do not have a good health care. A friend of mine was in a critical condition because she refused to go to the doctor at first when she started to feel sick. She refrained from going because she did not have insurance and she was not aware of where she could go to apply for free healthcare for people with low income. I have seen the same situation happen too many times in my Vietnamese community, and I understand their struggle because I was once in their shoes. In addition to this struggle, I believe that some of the nurses do not realize that most Vietnamese people cannot read, hence, giving them a paper explaining their illness, does not help them at all. Having experienced this as I was growing up, my long-term professional goal is to hosts outreach program and educational courses for the general public but also focusing in on the Vietnamese community. By being bilingual, I would like to host my classes in Vietnamese while promoting ways to improve health such as diet, exercise moves, disease prevention programs and community resources for healthcare. I hope that by teaching in Vietnamese, the information I teach them will be remembered as some may not know how to read. Part of the reason why I chose this career is because it is a lifelong learning career. With the idea of pursuing a master degree, I can be up to date with new research by taking educational courses and attending seminars. Getting my master degree will also help me be a competent nurse, as I will have gained more knowledge to apply in my field. By completing this goal, I am advancing in my career and becoming a prosperous
