When we talk about something about concentration camps, we all consider that the Nazi concentration camp, former Soviet Union political labor camps, and even in China we have the storm which blew throughout China and left with a social memory which is now called “Ten –year Calamity” .Every country has their own blemish, in China we missed a major development opportunity because of this huge policy mistakes which is called the ten-year-long “Cultural Revolution” , but anyway, here I am, I tried my best to change my life in China, I want to have a new life so I come here to restart my life. To be honest, I can totally understand and accept this kind of thing that happened to Shin Dong-hyuk, but on the other hand ,I show my respect to him.
The problem of these North Korea defectors still exists, I can not imagine what the life will be if I were in the concentration camp in North Korea, but I absolutely believe what Shin said. My father works for the army in China, because of his special job he is never allowed to come to America to see me, even my mom can only come to America to see me for over one week, otherwise my parents will sent to the jail. My life in China is just like a life of prisoner, my family don’t have any choices but accept it. I cannot compare my life with Shin’s experience, because they are really incomparable, I would just say that I could totally understand and accept Shin’s story. When I was in China, my parents and my phones are monitoring, I didn’t have any privacy. After I came to America, my parents still don’t talk with me on the phone or use any social media to contact me, not because they don’t love me or don’t want get in to my life but they have no choice. They live in the army so they are not allowed to use their own social phones and social media, they can only ask their friends who doesn’t work for the army to contact me. Especially when I come here, because I really want to restart a better life and
