Essay On Being Distracted
Being easily distracted from my tasks becomes a daily issue, it makes it very difficult to complete tasks when they need to be completed. Tasks begin to pile up when I cannot focus on getting them complete which then leads to being behind schedule. This all then leads to stress which is the biggest issue that comes from being easily distracted from my plans. I become distracted by the smallest things like noise and small changes in work environment. When I do something or want to get something done, it must be completely silent and without any distractions at all. When I begin losing focus I start looking around the room and/or start messing with things around me.It is difficult for me to get things done when there are other people in the room even if they are not being loud or making any noise at all. For many people classical music helps them focus but for me it must be completely silent in order for me to focus at all. So when I begin, I will turn off anything that makes noise like my phone, TV, and computer. I will also clear off my work space and only leave the materials I need in order to complete my work. Music is a big part of people’s lives and it can be accessed so easily. People can hear music anywhere they go on their phones. Many people like to listen to music whenever they are doing other tasks. Others feel that the music distracts them from the work they are performing. In my opinion, I do not like listening to music when I am working on certain tasks that require thinking or concentration because do not concentration. I love listening to music in my free time. If there is music on while I am doing a task, then I am more likely to be paying attention to the music than concentrating on the task. When I listen to music, I like to pay attention to the lyrics even though I already know them word by word. Don’t you want to find out whether…

Listening to the ambient melodies, associated with classical music, have been linked to helping your brain harness it’s full creative potential. This type of brain-training is appropriately termed distracted focus. “The way this works is that moderate noise levels increase processing difficulty which promotes abstract processing, leading to higher creativity” (Cooper). Although others may argue that any background music would…

Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert are some of the greatest and most known classical composers of all time. Most people have at least heard of them, and most of them have likely heard some of their music as well. Research has shown that listening to classical music have been proven to reduce stress and anxiety and therefore put people in a calmer and happier state of mind and body. It also helps people retain information as they study. Even if the person is not consciously listening to or paying attention to the music, their subconscious picks it up and reduces anxiety and even depression. Working as nurse for several years has allowed me to learn how to effectively prioritize my actives on a daily basis. Several researchers, including Joe Landsberger (Study Guides and Strategies, 1996), have stated that it is important to help yourself become aware of how you use your time. Creating a list and prioritizing it can help schedule goals around plans, and leisure time around running errands. It is important to separate the daily “to do” list form the “in the near future.” This keeps goals within a tangible manner. Setting realistic and achievable daily obligations and straying from overloading yourself is essential. I believe, if something…
