In order to respect these rights, it is necessary to provide a client with enough information to do so. Without enabling a client to have self-determination, one would be forcing opinion on a client and practicing unethically. It is a practitioner’s responsibility to give accurate information to help clients make informed decisions regarding their life.
To give sufficient and accurate information, a practitioner would make it their responsibility to increase their knowledge and skill while also increasing the knowledge of others. Increasing knowledge and skill would give one the ability to further help clients. Not only does it benefit clients, but also the practitioners career by making them more valuable to the company with increased knowledge and skill with record to prove of it.
Ultimately in any business, engaging in any false or misleading practice is unethical. This kind of unethical behavior is not only damaging to the company, but also to the practitioner’s career.
