Eulogy For The Dog Lover: A Personal Story Of A Dog
Today, I've been looking for a quote on dogs to describe how I feel about my dogs. I found this quote on dogs from Jack Canfield's Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul book. I know that any loving dog owner will resonate with this quote in a big way because it is absolutely true.

quote on dogs

When I met my husband, he had two dogs and I had one. His were older and have since passed, but they loved us, healed us, taught us, and made us laugh until they died, and they took a piece of hearts with them.

My miniature pinscher is still alive, though. He's almost 13 years old and, besides some back issues, he's never had a problem in his life - that we knew about - but things have been different for the past few months. He had a lot of pain one night, and after an ultrasound was done, we found out he has a nodule, a mass, and an enlarged adrenal gland that was invading an artery and could cause life-threatening bleeding.

At the time, some ill-informed woman who worked at the emergency vet clinic informed us that he was going to bleed to death, and we thought we were going to

We were planning to get his teeth done, but then we found out about all this other stuff, and we thought it would be too risky.

It's at the point that he really should get them done because they have serious potential to cause other problems. We are waiting to find out if we can do them or not from our vet. Either way, I'm going to worry about my little man who only deserves the best because that's all he's ever given us.

Lesson From This Quote On Dogs

If I have one piece of advice for dog owners out there, it's to remember this quote on dogs and appreciate all they do for us in their life. They don't ask for much - some food, some water, some walks, some love... but they give you everything they have in return. Make some time for them each day before you have no time left with

They ran a blood panel on him only to find out that he was diabetic and his blood sugar was out of control. The vet gave us multiple suggestions for treating him, including insulin, an at home glucose monitor, or a glucose curve test under their supervision. At that point, we had to make a decision for our boy. We could tell he was suffering and we wanted to do right by him. Making the right choice for someone who does not have the ability to talk is a difficult decision, but as animal owners, we have a responsibility to care for our pets.…

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” By Josh Billings. This quote is the reason I chose this topic, animals are very important among humans and especially to me. Growing up, my family always had smaller dogs such as a Maltese (Tilly) and a Toy Poodle (Wookie). Due to providing and maintaining one of each breed, I feel as if I could advise somebody which of the two would be better for them. Honestly, I think the two are wonderful pets to have and love. I frequently find myself getting Tilly and Wookie mixed up even though they are two different breeds. Both of these breeds are extremely familiar yet one could still distinguish the difference between the two.…

My family dog is a hairless Chinese Crested named Sid. He is a gray, white, and black dog with no hair except on his head, paws, and the tip of his tail. We rescued Sid 8 years ago from Detroit, Michigan. His owners left him outside in the freezing cold when they moved away. They abandoned him. Adopting Sid changed my life forever. By caring for him, I have learned loyalty, responsibility, love, compassion, and patience. These are traits I see and feel within him as well. I believe animals mirror God’s hope and love for us. For example, God wants us to forgive others who have done us harm. Sid has forgiven his original owners by moving beyond the shy and fearful dog he was when we first brought him home. He is a happy and joyful dog now.…

From the looks of her, we were not sure if she would make a full recovery or not looking at the condition she was in. You could easily tell right off the bat, the doctor was not completely sure about this dog yet from just looking at her. She was utterly amazed at how this dog, given her circumstances, would still be alive. Sitting in the waiting room with my mother, one minute felt as if it was five minutes, waiting for the doctor to come back. Finally, she had come back out and asked to speak to just my mother privately. My heart started racing. Every possible worst case scenario that could happen, ran through my mind. Maybe if I would have noticed her outside earlier than I did, she would be in a better condition. Maybe if I would have done something different, she would still be…

Have you ever looked at many animals and saw one and knew that was the one you wanted? That happened to me and my family when we decided to adopt a dog from Douglas Dog Orphans. We went to the orphanage and looked around; there were lots of dogs, all kinds but a special one, named Tucker. His profile said he was a 3 or 4 years old American Bulldog, Lab mix. It said that he was a good dog for a home of any size. He had white fur with a blob of black on one side and 3 more blobs smudged together on the other side. We liked to call him mini cow. He was looking at us like he knew we were the family for him. He was not barking like all the other dogs. We were able to take him into another room and play with just him to make sure we liked…

"The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." This was said by Andy Rooney. Andy Rooney is a very, very wise man. He adopted a dog from an humane society once, just like I did. The animal shelter I got my dog from was called Humane Society Of West Michigan. The Humane Society Of West Michigan was very neat and orderly. It smelled like sanitizer and bleach mixed together. Past the main lobby there was a wide hallway you go through to get to the crowded room where they keep all the dogs. Inside this spacious room were kennels that had between 2 and 4 dogs in them. A couple of them only had 1 lonely dogs in them. This made me feel happy and sad being…

I was never a dog lover. My kids always wanted a dog. I dug my heels in but eventually, they wore me down with chorus’ of “please can we get a dog?” Begrudgingly, I began looking for a dog. It was to be a Christmas present for my kids, an older dog, a trained dog. I knew that I did not have the patience for training and I knew that when kids say they will help; I knew exactly what that meant.…

Goldendoodle puppies are what you would imagine to be a life size teddy bear in the palm of a hand. At first glance, some will ponder on the fact if they are tangible or dreamed upon. Bringing home my first goldendoodle puppy, Charlie Brown, was the ultimate feeling, he is a dark, creamy brown coat with a reddish tint. His fur feels immensely like the inside of a new pair of Ugg boots. My love for him is unconditional, except for waking up in the early hours of the morning with his horrendous puppy breathe. Not to mention I also failed to remember the irritating barking that occurred so often. If all of these compelling things intrigue you, I commend that you find yourself a Charlie Brown like I have.…
