Eva Peron grew up in a poor family, dreaming of one day becoming an actress. Eva was the youngest out of five children. Her mother, Juana Ibaguren, had four children with her father, Juan Duarte. Although the couple never got married, Juana used the last name Duarte for herself and the children. After her father died in a car accident, her family moved to a nearby town of Juinin, where her mother ran a boarding home. When Evita was about 15 years old, she left high school and moved to Buenos Aires, with her dream of becomg an actress. Although Eva Peron was not well trained in theatre, she achieved a few small parts in a few movies and on the radio. Juan Peron was raising a political and military power in Argentina. Less than a year later Juan and Eva had moved in together in a house in the northern part of Argentina. In 1945 Eva and Juan Peron married happily married eachother. Evita and Juan agreed that the time had come for the ‘‘shirtless ones’’ of Argentina, to get their fair share of Argentina's prosperity. Eva Perón used her position as first lady to fight for causes she believed in, including women's suffrage and improving the lives of the poor. She also unofficially ran the ministries of health and labor in her husband's
government.
Evita Peron became a legendary figure in Argentine politics. She was worshiped by the poor citizens of Argentina whom she strived to help. Eva made her last public appearance at her husband’s second inauguration. A month later, Eva Peron passed away from cervical cancer in Buenos Aires on July 26, 1952. There was a funral held for her, showing how much appreciation Argentina had from her public support.
Eva Peron’s life continues to facinate people all aroud the world. Evita’s life tells the story of a poor girl growing up, who becomes a important political power, and the subject of countless books, movies, and plays.
