Introduction
This report will underline principles and theories of event management whilst also demonstrating key elements that contribute to a successful event. The report will recognise the importance of teamwork, in terms of management, delegation, responsibility, accountability and integrity.
Comic Relief is a British fundraising charity which was first established by Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry in the early eighties. It holds a bi-annual fundraising day known throughout the UK as Red Nose Day in which the country from schools to celebrities participate various events to raise money for the charity. The event that this report will look at took place on 15th March 2013 and was a fundraising event for Comic Relief on behalf of internationally recognised company, Cisco Systems. Cisco has had a working relationship with Comic Relief for over ten years providing equipment and leadership support as well as raising close to £1.5 million. Cisco is an American corporation that designs, manufactures and sells networking equipment throughout the world.
