We see incredible things happen from incredible people every day, however these great things don’t just grow on trees, this is the one word that summarizes how they happen : determination. Teen activists are some of those incredible people, and you might be surprised that they’re just kids. To do those incredible things they need one thing, determination. Because the work that they do is anything but easy. Teen activists are determined to make one aspect, or one place of the world a better place. This is really what determination is all about. I chose this as my last paragraph because it truly sums up, and proves that these activists are determined to change the world. If you really want to ask someone about determination, and how they think they can make a difference then I would ask these teen activists. One example of determination is shown in all of them. I’ll start off with Malala. When she started off, she was a girl in a valley being controlled by people with more power than her. However, that didn’t stop her. She got death threats, and didn’t care one bit. Then, she got shot, but after she healed she stayed strong, and was determined to change the world after that. Even through all of that, Malala didn’t give up. In a news interview she said “I want to serve, I want to serve the people”, this all shows that Malala never gave up. Ryan Hreljac is a perfect example of determination as well. This is because he was 7, when he started raising money, and at that time didn’t understand the true depths of the water crisis in Africa. So, he raised the $75 he thought would be needed to build a well. The only problem that he was still $1,925 short about. But, he kept going, and raised money all over his town. He spoke to people even though he was still going through speech therapy, and in the end reached goal, and ended up soaring way beyond to build more than 50 wells ever since. But, the person that probably needed to keep going through even though his life had been changed dramatically was Louis Braille. Think about it, he was blind, and he changed the world when he was just a kid. But, the true determination wasn’t just this, it was much more. His language wasn’t used until after he was dead. Even though he was blind, and disabled he had to keep pushing through, and that is what transformed him from a disabled kid who was smart, to a teen
