This study will show the effects of littering on natural resources, animals, and humans. It will also include methods on how to deal with this global problem, and the consequences of participating in this unlawful act. The purpose is to educate individuals on the crucial damage that one waste product can cause to an environment, locally and globally. Also to inform them on ways to support their community and the world by joining campaigns/groups, or by doing the right thing and throwing their waste into trash cans or dumpsters.
Introduction:
In this paper, I will be discussing how littering/pollution is affecting our natural resources, animals, and ourselves. I plan on doing this by stating facts and evidence from my sources. My goal in my research essay is to show individuals why it is important to always recycle and throw waste in disposal bins such as trash cans or dumpsters. I want people to realize that one piece of plastic or trash can drastically damage the ground we live on and more. I will try my best to get my point across to others who do

These fumes and chemicals usually originate from factories, automobiles, dust, pollen, and fungus such as mold. A gas known as ozone plays a major part in air pollution. Smog is created when ozone contaminates the air. Another hazardous gas is carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas. This toxic vapor is responsible for global warming. Although many things release carbon dioxide when breathing, it is considered a contaminant (pollutant) when it is linked with automobiles, aircrafts, factories, and other human related doings that use and burn fossil fuels such as gasoline and natural gas. The reason air pollution is dangerous is because it is possible for it to be poisonous. Inhaling these toxins forming in the air can lead to heart or lung disease. Also, air from mold and dust insides many buildings are also likely to affect your

Furthermore, Pellow reinforces the concept that governmental policies can directly damage groups of people or a certain race by pointing out the ironic conditions that take place in recycling industries. Pellow states that “solid waste is a fact of life” (1). Humans as a species tend to aggregate, making the disposal of waste a complicated issue. Disposal practices lead to divided political opinions and negative environmental impacts, such as pollution. And, although all humans contribute to producing waste, not all humans share the burden of managing this garbage. For instance, Pellow observed the social and economic conditions taking place under a recycling center located within Chicago. The foundation behind the idea of recycling is to foster the concern for environmental respect. Therefore, a recycling center should be a place where people are aware of their actions and what the resulting consequences may be. However, many environmental problems and social inequalities arose within the community of Chicago.…

Another positive effect of littering is having a filthy water supply. When you see a factory dumping waste into a river or stream, it will eventually make its way into our tap water, how delicious! It’s like they’re putting a little bit of flavoring in it for whoever drinks it, it’s just so thoughtful. In addition, when waste is dumped, it usually kills the animals in the water, so you don’t have to worry about fishes swimming around in your drinking water. The big shot company owners are always thinking about the little people.…

This is probably the reason why the earth is being polluted with trash. Studies show that people litter because they do not feel responsible for public areas and that people usually litter outside of their neighborhoods where the trash becomes someone else’s problem. One example on how litter can affect the environment is that organic litter can cause water pollution and lead to algal blooms, and cigarettes could also start fires if they are not put out and then discarded in the environment. In Al Gore's speech he talks about how in 7 years the North Polar ice cap might “fall off a cliff.” This might happen in 7 years because of the Northern Hemisphere tilting away from the sun. This happened because of all the pollution and global warming we caused and because of our trash. So, people may argue and say one piece of trash on the ground doesn't really matter and that it’s okay to throw little pieces of trash on the floor but it’s not. Every little piece adds up and still causes damage on the environment. So think next time you're about to throw your candy wrapper in a nearby bush. Think about the consequences of that action and how it will affect the…

What is littering? Littering is defined as objects strewn or scattered about; scattered rubbish. (“Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus” 157) Littering is a bigger deal than people make it out to be. Yes, we have prisoners and volunteers that work on the side of the road and pick up trash, but, that doesn’t make it right. No one likes a trashy yard, so why trash someone else’s? Carelessly discarding garbage affects everyone. Our waterways become damaged from litter, litter causes harm to people as well as animals, and the result shows that we don’t care about our environment.…

Concerns with our environment is that when we litter it makes our lands, roads, and cities look like we do not take care of ourselves and make it seem like we do not care about where we live. The city has created signs along the road that tells the people not to litter or a fine has to be added with your consequences. People litter anyways, people do not care, some even tear the sign down as a joke to show disrespect. The fine cost of littering in North Carolina is from 250 to 500 dollars just for throwing a little cigarette or a little napkin you had from eating wendys. With people not caring about the laws of littering nor the consequences of littering, this is what make the community/area overflow with litter. This results in you seeing litter in the forest, on the highways, to our cities, to our neighborhoods, and in front of our yards. Then the city has to use up more energy to higher cleanup crews for the city. Then when the cleanup crews begin they use a specific truck to pick up the trash with and that truck pollutes the air with the energy used to pick up the trash, so basically…

Littering is an issue in the town of Danville that is going to be affected the future if something is not done to resolve it. Some people may disagree that the reason people litter is because there is nowhere to put trash when walking down the street or they have become too careless to find a trash can. It is clear that some people are ignorant to the harm they are doing to the town by littering and the variety of problems they are causing. It is a fact that littering has a huge effect on animals along with people. Most animals can’t tell the difference between food and trash leaving them poisoned from trash they have eaten. Cigarette butts have been found in the stomachs of birds, dogs, cats, and squirrels. Littering can also be hazardous to one's health by attracting vermin and bacteria.…

One of the main causes of air pollution is manufacturing. This source of pollution spews particulate matter and chemicals into the atmosphere. The particulate matter and chemicals that come from a factory includes Sulfur oxides, Nitrogen oxides, Carbon monoxide and dioxide. And these kinds of chemicals and pollutions are very harmful to humans, animals, nature, and other living things. For example, when these kinds of pollutions are spewed up into the space, they’re going to break the Ozone that protects us from the sunlight. Moreover, they also can make us unhealthy such as; decrease our lung functions, cough, shortness of breath, and also make asthma and other lung diseases get worse. So these chemicals and pollutions are very harmful to humans and other living things.…
