Where do I begin? How can I thank someone who has made such a difference in the way I view myself and music? You will never know what that means to me, because sometimes I have trouble saying what I really mean. I know that my words won’t be enough, but I will try my best to express my gratitude. I want to say thank you. Thank you for being the kind and caring human that you are. Thank you for teaching and guiding me throughout these last two (+) years. I have had many great teachers in my past, but there are very few that I consider the best. You are the best teacher I have ever had. You never gave up on me, not once. That was the lesson after I had asked you for a recommendation letter, and here you were talking about striking students with hangers, and in your case, umbrellas. I will never forget the image that one would have seen had they walked into that lesson: me, in the chair playing a Bb chromatic scale over and over again, while you held an umbrella over my head as an intimidation tactic.
