Examples Of Anxiety
Anxiety “Mommy, Mommy.” I screamed as I ran behind her because I was shy and scared. When I was younger I was so shy and got nervous whenever someone I did not know would start talking to me. I have matured and overcome so much since I was younger, just with being shy and coming out of my comfort zone. I had many difficulties while overcoming this, but it only helped me grow as a person in the long run. Ever since I was really young I had social anxiety. I could not be around many people without getting scared and hiding. When I was really little I remember wanting to work in a factory because you do not need to talk to many people other than your coworkers. This was just the beginning of my anxiety. One of my hardest experiences was switching schools. “Lauryn you have to go to a different high school next year because we are moving.” my mom sat me down and …show more content…
I was not happy after hearing about that. After a few days of processing this I was still scared, but also excited to have a new start. Fast forward to the first day of school freshman year. I visited the school before at the beginning of the summer so I knew where my classes were and kinda knew what i was doing. It was so scary at first I felt as small as an ant. Everyone was taller than me and had to look down at me. I got pushed and shoved a bit on the first day because of my size. I was still nervous and scared I would not make any friends because a lot of friend groups were already formed from middle school. The first day was hard a lot of people kept staring at me and I felt like they were talking about me, but I finally started talking to a few people. By the next few weeks I was talking to more people or enough that I was comfortable with and became

I moved to Alabama from Texas at the beginning of my 6th grade year. The day before leaving, my best friend since kindergarten came over and stayed the night with me, dreading falling asleep and waking up to a nightmare of having to say goodbye. The morning came and so did the tears, I had packed up my entire life, said goodbye to all my family, friends, my house, and even my dad. How was I, an insecure, and VERY shy little girl supposed to just leave everything I knew and loved and start all the way over when my life was just getting started? It was a long 12 hour drive from Dallas, Texas, to little town Guntersville, Alabama and it gave me a long time to pity myself, hate my mom for moving me, get over the hate and be excited, and then be upset all over again. Alabama. Why Alabama? We had a choice, Alabama or Florida, and we chose here??? Me being a stubborn, bratty, over dramatic pre-teen, I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. I thought the world was ending.…

Summer went bye like it wasn't even there and by the time school started I was very depressed. The new school I was going to was Naperville North High School which was about ten times the size of my old school in Pennsylvania in size and in the number of students. In my school in Pennsylvania there were about twelve students in each class, here the number runs around thirty two. The school building was so big I had a lot of trouble getting to class on time let alone finding them in the building. The school wasn't what I was bothered by the most because it was the fact that I didn't have any social life and I was a social person. There were a lot of different groups of people at my new high school, it was tough for me to fit in and meet new people. Everyone just knew me as the new kid and didn't even bother to find out what my real name was. The first month of being the new kid is a very hard month of school. I knew no one who I had anything in common with and began to get terrible grades in…

In the middle of the night, I wake up frequently due to a reemerging night terror. I experience this nightmare an average of three times per week. I awaken startled, sweating profusely, and out of breath. It is a reoccurring nightmare of the evening that my college roommate was badly beaten by two people in our dorm room parking lot. The dream is always the same and very similar to the exact real life incident that I had experienced. I am watching television in the dorm living room area. Suddenly, I hear frantic yells coming from outside. Students screamed as they witnessed the attack in the parking lot outside the back entrance of the dorm. I rush outside and am shocked. I find my roommate…
