In the US, in spite of the fair housing act’s enforcement (1968), it has been observed that, the most of the areas lack true diverse range of people, living together. In fact, this happens due to the Institutionalized discrimination’s practice, which can be defined as unreasonable and bigoted treatment of a special group of people by governments or social institutes. However, looking at the broader picture, both concepts have different implication. To begin with, in line with the sociologists’ view, prejudice is preconceived and hostile feelings or attitude against special groups, actions, race or gender, developed through life settings (Tomie, 2009). Let's say, Lactovegetarian don’t like Non Vegetarian people, although they do not get chances to meet and be acquainted with non-veg people. On the other hand, discrimination is can be thought as the results of agreed prejudice and it involves exploitation or actions touching special groups based on race, gender, religion or political interest areas. For example, ignoring or discounting LGBT community from giving promotion at the workplace or eliminating or rejecting Non Vegetarian candidates for recruitment purpose without evaluating their …show more content…

Explain why aging is seen as a social problem, since everyone who lives will eventually be old. It is worth to note that biological cycle remains similar for everyone. Still, one of the phases of that cycle, Aging, is observed as the social humiliation all together in each global society. So, in view of this, the dependency percentage of aged members is increased and so younger people in the family have to increase efforts to handle personal commitments aside from the professional one (Costel et al., 2003). Moreover, their intellectual and physical abilities start dwindling that makes family to suffer financially and mentally. Hence, these baby boomers are perceived as the social burden as they require more time and cost from the younger generation, which they cannot afford. Correspondingly, Aging increase financial burden on the government due to the reduced productivity and increased health cost through insurance plans. Thus, it is unfortunate that they are treated harshly and in spite of having them in the family should be considered as a boon, the society perceives aging as a social problem or disgrace.
