Children learn how to be racist from observing their parents, caregivers, society, and culture. An example would be the movie 42 which is about a first modern African American Major League baseball player. All the white players from the opposing team are teasing him and calling him rude names like “monkey” while he is at bat. They repeatedly tell him that baseball is a “whites” only sport and the crowd joins in on the teasing and name calling just like everyone in their culture and society. Groups of people at the game are mostly composed of families which include little kids. An example would be a middle school student in Tennessee named Keaton Jones who immediately became well known due to his bullying video going viral. He made a video about being bullied, and thousands of Americans railed to his defense. Big time celebrities confronted him and comforted him. In the days since Keaton’s video went viral, social media swirled with accusations of him and his family being big-time racist because his mother posted a picture which showed her and her children smiling while holding a Confederate flag (Emily Shugerman New York). All Keaton Jones has ever known is to be racist. His mother raised him that way, he has been around racism his whole life, and that is all he has ever come to
