Threat deterrence is an important factor in keeping an area safe. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) defines threat deterrence as “The threat of force in order to discourage an opponent from taking an unwelcome action.” The pure deterrence of an armed staff is enough to spark the purest of human instinct, survive. Our military is a perfect example of a proper deterrence of threat.
