The southern colonies were probably some of the most deceiving colonies of the original thirteen. They got people to do hard labor for them. The colonists I guess you can say were like “supervisors.” They would sit under some shade sipping on ice cold water while they watched their slaves and servants sweat and maybe even bleed by doing things the owners were capable of doing but were just to lazy to. Deceiving because they say they will give you land and freedom which is true, but in the end they wouldn’t give you the exact same rights the colonists did.…

Working at a large healthcare organization, it is important that managers are aware of the different management styles. This will help in being effective leaders. The theory I have identified is Situational Theory. Situational leadership is based on the idea that there is more than one approach to handle a situation. The four leadership styles used with this theory includes: directing, coaching, delegating and supporting.…
Transactional leadership, specifically the Management By Exception-Active (MBE-A) style was the primary leadership model utilized by the general. The general relied heavily upon this style early on as it involves corrective transactions between the leader and follower. For example, upon reporting to the base, BGen Savage is waved through the checkpoint by the Military Police solider. Immediately, BGen Savage demonstrated the MBE-A style by ordering his staff driver to stop so he could immediately address the solider for his failures. Another example of MBE-A, was BGen Savage’s addressing the sergeant who was working the front desk. Before the general sought to address formal business, he immediately address the issue of why the sergeant was not maintaining proper dress and appearance as well as his failure to show proper custom and courtesies. These two examples demonstrate the MBE-A leadership style of the new commander trying to correct deficiencies within the organization.…
1) The subfields of anthropology seem quite diverse in their specific subjects and methods. Why, then, are they all considered parts of the single discipline of anthropology? What ties them together? Leadership “is a process where an individual influences a group of people to achieve a common purpose” (Northhouse, 2010). Being a leader is one of the most important skills one is either born with or acquires through mentorship or experience. A transformational leader who acts as a role model can influence patients, staffs, and make them accountable for their own practice, work achievement and staff development (McNaron, 2009). As an inspiring young future DNP leader, my main focus will be patient compliance, satisfaction, and healthcare accessibility. The transformational leadership skills I will need to develop and use are motivation, inspiration, empowerment, and trust. These qualities involves working closely with other healthcare providers…
Data collected from 179 high school teachers and principals were examined with hierarchical regression analysis. The analysis indicated that transactional leadership tends to have a stronger role in explaining unique criterion. Transactional and transformational leadership both have a negative interactive relationship that predicts the outcome of leader’s vision. Transactional leadership has a greater predictive value than what is assumed.…
Transactional leadership, which is based on rewards and punishment, results in followers achieving the negotiated level of performance. According to Homans (1961) this relationship will continue so long as the leader and follower find the exchange mutually beneficial. Various researchers (Sims, 1977; Hunt & Schuler, 1976; Reitz, 1971) have concluded that followers’ performance and satisfaction is positively impacted by leadership behavior based on contingent rewards.…

Transactional leadership styles are more concerned with maintaining the normal flow of operations. Transactional leadership can be described as "keeping the ship afloat." Transactional leaders use disciplinary power and an array of incentives to motivate employees to perform at their best. The term "transactional" refers to the fact that this type of leader essentially motivates subordinates by exchanging rewards for performance. A transactional leader generally does not look ahead in strategically guiding an organization to a position of market leadership; instead, these managers are solely concerned with making sure everything flows smoothly today.…
