Explain How You Express Your Character With The Choices Of Your Actions
"You express the truth of your character with the choices of your actions" - Steve Maraboli. The first adjective to come to your mind when you hear a persons name is what forms their character. Character is not only how people describe you, it's about how you present yourself and what actions you choose. To show your strong sense of will, their are a few characteristics that are most important. The most important characteristic are compassion, perseverance and honesty. Compassion is feeling sympathy and sorrow for another person. Compassion is an important characteristic because without it, the world would be more selfish than it already is. Compassionate people show that they care more for others than they do for themselves. The first thing I look for in a person is if they care for others. Growing up, we are told love your neighbor as yourself and treat others as you want to be treated. When people follow those rules and show other compassion I think it's one of the most genuine characteristic about a person. For example, if someone were to lose a loved one instead of just saying sorry because that is …show more content…
Having perseverance is very important now a days because their is always people bring you down and telling you that you what you can and can not do. If you are able to over come all of the negativity and still achieve what you wanted to do that shows that you have a strong work ethic. For example, if all your life you were told that you were not smart enough to become a lawyer and you worked hard and their negativity pushed you that would show you have perseverance. Showing that you can over come obstacles and get past all of the hate proves that things are important to you. People that have perseverance show that they aren't afraid of failure and they don't care what other people think. They are doing what they want to do which makes perseverance a very important

Compassion is something we all must give and receive because compassion is the one thing that makes us human. It is when somebody shows someone else that they care about them, and to stop ones suffering. In other words: love. It is not possible to have love without compassion. The two work together like clockwork. Compassion is necessary to the human experience because if someone is not shown compassion (thus not experiencing it) they will suffer.…

My character has always been an important concept within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been imperative to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself. For example, I once noticed that an instructor had given me a higher grade than I deserved on a quiz, I never hesitated to report the mistake and made sure that my work was graded…

“Character is a set of behavior traits that define what sort of person you are. Your moral or ethical qualities if you like – qualities of honesty, courage, integrity, trustworthiness, respectfulness, responsibility, caring and compassion. People judge your personal character by their perception of how you respond to challenges. Someone who perseveres in the face of adversity and works persistently to complete a task or sees something through is generally thought to be someone of good character.” Once wrote Karon Graham.…

Perseverance is key in athletics. Students may be tempted to give up mid game if their team is losing; however, valuable lessons can be learned if the athlete remains gritty and tries even harder. Perhaps their perseverance will cause other athletes to try harder as well. Also, teens need perseverance in their personal lives. Sometimes life is really difficult, and if you have several difficult situations occurring at the same time, it can begin to weigh you down. Even though life may be hard, you should continue to try your best to get through it. You most likely will go through many hardships in life, but the world is not against…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

Having character is being trustworthy, honest, empathetic and respectful. This means doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. I always search for the best in everyone because no one is perfect and we all have made poor decisions in our lifetime. I take responsibilities in my actions and others I am responsible for. It is difficult for me to admit that I am wrong but I still do because it is the right thing to do. I have had a friend who was suffering from depression and wanted to harm themselves. I was scared for them because depression is a disease and it is not their fault that they are like that. I had them speak to an adult and they are currently recovering. I was very scared that she had cut marks on her wrist because it could have gotten worst. I cried because I did not want to lose a friend. On a field trip, I found a five dollar bill on the pavement. I asked the first adult I saw who was slightly ahead of me if it was hers. She said that it must have dropped out of her purse when she was walking. The teacher was really surprised because she said I could have easily kept it for myself. I would feel bad if I took someone else’s money even if it was just lying…

Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. What would happen in the world if people were judged by what is on the inside and not what you see? People would have to take the time to get to know people before they could conclude anything about them, and maybe if compassion was the driving force in the world, people would be more accepting and loving. Instead of labeling people, the world would be a much better place if we approached others with compassion and a sense of justice about their character and not how they physically look.…
