Character is not only how people describe you, it's about how you present yourself and what actions you choose. Compassion is feeling sympathy and sorrow for another person. Compassion is an important characteristic because without it, the world would be more selfish than it already is. If you are able to over come all of the negativity and still achieve what you wanted to do that shows that you have a strong work ethic.
