Unit 3 – Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
1.1 Explain models of practice that underpin equality, diversity, and inclusion in own area of responsibility
My role requires me to support individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. I have to ensure I uphold and promote equality and diversity in my practice and offer inclusion. I will in my role be supporting people from a diverse range of backgrounds and culture. Through this I must ensure I treat everyone equally and fairly regardless of their ability, religion, beliefs, race, gender, age, social status or sexual orientation, also taking into recognition people’s differences and valuing the contribution each makes to society.

I would inform them what effects their verbalisation could have on a client if they were to hear it. I would offer support and training to the member of staff to help them with their development and understanding of this issue.
Policies and procedures, role and responsibilities would also be looked at and be part of the training update. Part of the responsibility for the company and me will be to monitor the staffs development and improvements made within their practice.
2.4 Support others to challenge discrimination and exclusion
Within my role it is important that I constantly review and encourage a positive culture that promotes the principles of good practice and that inclusion in the norm.
Ensuring that any new staff training and CPD’s are delivered to the staff as they develop and are updated accordingly
Identifying contributions from team members through reviewing
