4.Outline three different methods of monitoring development. Different methods of monitoring include:  Assessment frameworks  Observation  Standard measurements  Information from carers and colleagues we will require different methods and opportunities to monitor the development of children and also young people. Whilst working closely with them.
It is important to understand the purpose of observations. This is because we need to report back to the teacher whom will then report to parents and cares on pupil progress. Parents and teachers must share information about pupils to enable them to work together for the child's best interest. Informal observations are those which are carried out everyday as we work closely with the pupils .These observations are small but will enable us to build up a picture of each pupil. The four different types of professional intervention that could assist are:
Social worker- A social worker could get involved in a child's life if the child has been a cause of concern in their home life or home environment. They will also support if the parents have asked for support .Social workers can also liaise with the school regarding looked after children (LAC's) sometimes usually schools will directly contact social services if they feel that a child is in need of help and support.
Speech and Language Therapist-
This particular therapist will be based sometimes in schools. Speech and language therapist will provide a diagnosis of an important communication delay and a disorder. They will also advise schools and parents about ways in which they could help and support the child. They will be given appointments and they will be in blocks. In the appointments activities will be provided for pupils to work with before they get reviewed
