Explain The Disability Act 2006

The Disability Act 2006 is based on an expanded declaration of the rights of people with disability. In the Act, there is a statement proving that the existing rights of people with a disability from the previous legislation retains. The statement is “All people with a disability have the same human rights as other members of society and should be empowered to exercise their rights.” The Act articulates some specific rights for people with disability. These includes rights when using disability services:
• They have the right to receive services in a way that respects their decisions, their dignity as a person, and their confidentiality of personal information.
• They have the rights to receive services in a safe, available built environment
