3 members of the teaching team have a specialist qualification to assess for SpLDs and maintain their Practising Certificate by continuing professional development.
Medical, mental health difficulties and sensory and physical impairments:
The Head of Study Support together, with a full-time Lead Learning Support Assistant, oversees the support for these students. Some Learning Support Assistants (LSAs ) have specific areas of responsibility within this field. The team of 4 full-time and 5 part-time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs). The team is of mixed gender and a range of different experiences. The department also has a small bank team who also support students across all 3 strands. 2 part time administrators, equating to 36 hours per week, provide administrative support.
Study skills for all students:
A team of Learning Advisors appointed from curriculum teachers from the College Faculties continue to offer workshop support for study skills both on a drop in and on an appointment basis. The Inclusive Learning Co-ordinator, manages the team. The development of weekly Stress Management workshops has been operating this
