For the past eight years, I have attended a Baptist church that offers countless opportunities to help my community, something I hold true to my character. One major organization that I have been a part of is the “Salt of the Earth" food ministry in Bronte, Texas. The most important values of being a leader is leading by good example and self-improvement, the most evident being in my sports career. Noticing my success, my teammates would emulate my techniques and try to work harder than me, leading to their own self-improvement. Another instance of my leadership qualities that I demonstrate is after I came back to school from a weekend of volunteering, my friends would acknowledge this and be inspired. Suddenly, friends began to sign up with me to do community jobs. As a senior, I also realized the power of positive reinforcement. I gave encouraging words to a teammate who messed up instead of condemning him for his mistake. Self-improvement is the foundation for your future. We should never stop learning or working at something that we desire. To stop educating oneself is to stop improving oneself. I started committing to improving myself during an excruciating hot football practice and I have seen the benefits of self-improvement ever
