Getting to Know the World Outside Campus For university students, campus is at times a protection, keeping us from those negative and complicated stories of the world, whereas unavoidably, also a hinderance, impeding our contact and understanding of the real society, which we can but face in person someday. So inside campus, for our own good in the long run, it's essential that students get to know the outer world, by which they strengen character, develop soft skills and ultimately get ahead in life. To survive in the society, the fiercely competitive and extremely complicated one, you need a strong chracter. Knowing about how this world actually operates ensures that. Local news on businees deception, child abuse, etc will teach you to be tough and realistic. Our world is not perfect, yet only through facing up to it directly and early can you obtain a character which keeps you from falling down the day you youself step into the society alone. Improvements in soft skills is even more of an advantage of seeing the world while in unverisity. Meeting people from all walks of life, viewing lives of different nations make you familiar with the common practice of communication, transaction, negociation and the like. Experience forms you the ability to tackle various problems and conflicts. These knowledge, or rather, quality, in my eyes, is of paramount importance for a successful career and life. With a strong and inspired character and advanced soft skills, your getting involved with our world will in the end help you get ahead in life. There is no holding back the evidence that history gives us: Mao Zedong ended as an excellent leader for he had been caring about the world all along his years in school.
