School uniforms are becoming a popular trend amongst schools. Although many of us disagree for having school uniforms but it’s not a negative thing to have. The problem is majority of the students’ focus more on fashion rather than focusing on schoolwork. Although requiring students to wear school uniforms may violate their self-expression in some ways, a uniform are supposed to be looked upon as a positive thing.
We look neat when we wear school uniform. It also represents order and respect for the authority which students show when they are able to dress uniformly. When everyone in school wears the same thing, everyone is equal. “Schools requiring uniform will experience reduction in violence. Without the pressure of competing with different styles, students are more relaxed in school” (studymode.com). They will feel equal and at peace leading to disappearing thought of violence. We can be also with ourselves without feeling worried about being picked on because of your clothing.
We’ll not find a hard time on choosing and preparing what to wear. “Students that wear uniforms or follow the common dress codes going to school know what clothes are acceptable and do not spend extra time each morning preparing for school. Many students got late in going to school deciding what to wear and what are the outfits they need to avoid (Pedzich, 2002). It will also give students the opportunity to focus more on school work than their outfit. With uniforms, students find ways to express themselves creatively rather than through their clothes, the arts, music, sports, personality and academic achievement.
Wearing school uniforms encourages distinction of characters and personality instead of appearance and it will also boost our academic performances and rating especially for the students and school itself.
