Factors that Affect the Decision Making of the Seniors of ICSM Metropolis Batch 2012-2013 on their Career Path

I. Background of the Study

Decision making has always been an integral part of our life. It is a process where we execute our ability to create an effective resolution to a certain matter that comes our way. Creating a decision is no easy especially when we are not sure of the choices that are being laid on us. Each decision is a great risk for all of us because one mistake can change the run of our lives. Some decisions make good outcome but some goes the other way around. This is why people always make sure that they choose the best among the choices that are set for them. Each person in the community experiences this kind of dilemma.
All senior high school students are expected to move into a higher level of education. In this point of their lives they are the one who will choose the career path that they will take. Career path taking is a process of choosing the best course that will develop one’s ability. It involves wise thinking and good decision making.
We noticed that they found a hard time in dealing with this matter. Most of them were undecided because they are somewhat afraid that they might know no one in the university that they will enter. Some considered the quality and expertise of the school. Most of our schoolmates chose the university that are popular and guaranteed in producing excellent students, while others chose a university that is the same as their friends’. In connection to this, our schoolmates also struggled in choosing the course they will take. Many of them remained undecided because they don’t know what they really wanted to be.
These were the reasons why we decided to conduct a research about the different factors affecting the decision making of seniors batch 2012-2013, particularly upon choosing the right course for them. Selecting a course is naturally hard especially when one is not sure of what she

    Career choosing can be by far one of the hardest decisions during the college life one make possibly make. Picking classes and being interested in them is a very important thing to do as well. Every individual is different and the needs are different amongst each other. Every person depending on major may take fewer classes some more but how you go about in getting assistance all makes a difference. Any mistakes all catch up so it’s best to learn from them and try better next time than to not do anything at all. Career choosing should be done after you seeking for guidance.
