Introduction Police
are letting people get away with murder and so is the government. Rome had this same problem. Rome was a Republic that became a dictatorship but it “fell”. This means that most of their people died mostly from assassination. This occurred in 400 C.E. The primary reasons Rome “fell” were because of their military problems, their government was poor, and they had a lot of natural disasters.
One of the primary reasons that Rome “fell” was they had a poor government. First of all, Rome may have had good rules, but they did not enforce back then. They drafted soldiers. They also were exempt from conscription(Doc B). This was a problem because they didn’t have enough people in their army. It wasn’t fair for the people in the army because they separated them. Also, Rome failed to enforce their laws. According to Priscus, wealthy lawbreakers in Rome were able to get away with crimes(Doc E). This was a problem because it was not fair to the poor people. Also the poor people felt left out. Overall Rome fell because too many people were exempt from conscription and the wealthy got away with crimes. Another primary reason that Rome “fell” was that they had military problems. First of all Rome had military problems because of negligence and laziness(Doc B). This was a problem because their armor became heavy and they decided not to wear it when they had to report and put the uniform on. Also because no one in the military tried to restore breast plates and their helmets. They were ignorant to notice that later in time that they were going to need them(Doc B). This was a problem because now they wouldn’t have any armor. And also they didn’t know what it took. Overall Rome “fell” because they refused to wear any armor in the military properly. The last reason why Rome “fell” is because of their natural disasters(Doc F). First of all Rome had natural disasters because the Roman world was shaken by a violent and destructive earthquake(Doc F). This was a problem because recruitment of troops became more difficult. Also because the most people died from assassination. This was a problem because that would stop more people from wanting to come to Rome(Doc F). Overall Rome “fell” because most of their people died. Conclusion Back then Rome had good rules but they did not enforce back then. Rome had a problem with their people being lazy at the time. They were tortured by a violent earthquake. In the midst of all of this most people died. Overall, people in Rome and people today have to deal with military problems and natural disasters. Poor government, military problems and natural disaster led to problems for Rome. We should take away the facts like how the Huns were ignorant. We should also take away the sense out of how lazy they were. Every country’s leadership should take away the problems that are in Rome and try to prevent it from happening to their people.By studying the fall of Rome, people today should know that people sometimes can’t wear more than one piece of clothing. And they thought that the huns were savage.
