The Family Change Perspective: How Socio-Economic Factors Have Affected the Developemnt of Family Structure and Family Role Development Family Decline or Family Change? As one who leans towards the ideaologies encompassing the Family Change persperctive over the Family Decline perpective, I have chosen this topic as my Photo Essay Project. The text we have utilized this semester, Marriages,Families and Relationships: Making Choices in a Diverse Society, ( Lamanna, Riedmann & Stewart, 2012, p.10-12) discusses both the Family Decline Perspective as well as the Family Change Perspective and outlines some interesting information regarding the framework and idealologies of each.     A white picket fence surrounding a red-brick house in which a doting wife, successful and hard-working husband, and two and one half children reside was, at one point in time, the epitome of North American life.
