Abstract
Family Service and Guidance Center (FSGC) is a nonprofit organization that helps children deal with mental health illnesses and support the families involved in caring for those children. They have many programs that are designed to help children and families deal with mental health wellness in their families and have several successful ways they use their resources to do this. Over the years FSGC has evaluated the needs of the community and changed their programs and structure to meet those changing needs. I have included a logical model and outcome evaluation for the Youth Development

3) They did this to make sure that all their families would be able to get the services they needed with their new Medicaid providers. Their process was internal and something they needed to do in order to keep clients. This shows that they are keeping up with current procedures within the State in order to keep seeing clients that may not be able to go to other organizations to get the help they need.
The last way that they showed their effectiveness was with the stakeholder approach. “FSGC served 12,027 children, adolescent and families from over 40 Kansas counties with direct services, outreach and education in 2013.” (Family Service & Guidance Center, 2013, p. 3) Showing how many stakeholders they serve each year and how many counties they are in shows that they are helping a lot of families. They give measurable numbers with this approach.

As stated before their mission statement is “Family Service & Guidance Center provides quality behavioral healthcare for children and families.” (Family Service and Guidance Center, n.d.) This seems very general to me, our textbook states “the mission statement should convey the nonprofit’s essential purpose, approach, and values, distinguishing it from other organizations.” (Tschirhart & Bielefeld, 2012, p. 45) Per this definition I don’t think it’s a good mission statement as it doesn’t have the values, approach, nor does it distinguish itself from other organizations. I believe they could have a better statement that would allow them to show effectiveness within their evaluations and show that they do have values and approaches that are consistent with what they are providing to the

The Greenby Community Mental Health Center process evaluation measure suggests the Consultation and Education Department needs to implement the address of the real questionable issue within the organization, and to evaluate the programs being offered through the organization. The questionable issue at the center involves the discontinuance of the Consultation and Education departments. We understand the organization is facing an issue in regard to required service programs. We also understand the community mental health center has suggested as long as there is a director available the proposed suggestion will work, but doing so will take away workshops that have been instrumental to the program consumers. What they intend to do is stated clearly but it does not go into much detail which would be better for financing for the intended projects. This statement should be rethought and written to persuade people of their cause. This statement could be a guide for an even better one to be made, the better the statement the better the representation. This statement does not show what the clientele is or should be it talks about client but not which ones. Mental health issues in children and adolescents are a public health concern. In the UK it has been proposed that up to 20% of this age group will suffer from developmental, emotional or behavioural problems and around 10% will have a diagnosable mental disorder according to standardised criteria (Pryjmachuk et al. 2011). The appropriate service for the Calvert family would present as the child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS). Presently, CAMHS operate within a four tier system derived from the Children’s Service Plan, 2002-2005. Each stage of this system provides professionals and services with the aim of addressing needs based on assessments and evidence based practice. The services utilised are identified as appropriate to the level required by an individual (Pryjmachuk et al. 2011). Tier 1 services are termed universal services and incorporate GP surgeries, health visitors and schools, tier 2 services are termed targeted services and include specialist primary mental health practitioners whilst tier 3 and 4 services tend to be specialised services such as CAMHS community or Crisis team and inpatient admissions respectively (Pryjmachuk et al.…

The funders will raise questions if the funding organization feels certain questions are not answered. These questions can include how the director of the program plans on addressing the targeted populations’ constant need for services and if the director plans on upgrading any of the programs services it has already been providing to the surrounding community and the targeted population. By doing this any and all programs can be very successful throughout the entire existence of the program or organization.…

The agencies under the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) are in place to investigate abuse and neglect of the most vulnerable people in our society children, people with disabilities, and elderly citizens safe. I foresee two challenges if chosen to work with DFPS. The first challenge would be advocating for defenseless children and elderly citizens who are over looked and voiceless. The second challenge would be working with parents and caregivers at a difficult time with high emotional involvement. One challenge is that DFPS workers meet families and caregivers after a crisis has occurred and their emotions are high. The last challenge I foresee is getting parents or caregivers to understand you are there to advocate…
