New York Times often uses this technique as well by starting most of it’s opinion articles with a short relative anecdote to involve readers in the discussion from the very beginning. In the beginning my article I am trying to emotionally persuade y audience to become interested in my topic by sharing my concerns of being the only Russian student in my high school (Talonova). By using this personal anecdote I am trying to inform my audience of the cultural shock of the immigrants, when they realize that nobody around them can speak their native language nor know and understand the basic facts of their culture. Joy Kasson’s essay “Naratives of the Female Body: The Greek Slave” discusses Hiram Powers’ sculpture The Greek Slave and how much information it contains on the cultural construction of gender during this time period. Her naked body shows fine details and the beauty of the female body. Over time as our culture has developed, the way people view women has also developed to fit how our culture has changed. In the photo I will be discussing, a photo of Kim Kardashian from Playboy Magazine, one is able to see the similarities of expressing the beauty of the female body while at the same showing a more contemporary view of women.…

Good afternoon Traci, after assessing the current status and future needs of Marylee Luther’s construction company and taking some notes from your conversation with her the other day we have compiled a performance management framework that we believe will integrate the company’s goals to its strategy while making the growth move from Michigan to Arizona and staying consistent with the organizations current revenue and employee growth projections over the next year. We will briefly outline this performance management plan as it pertains to the categories of alignment of the performance management framework to the organizational business strategy, organizational performance philosophy, the job analysis process you will complete to identify the skills needed by employees, methods used for measuring the employee 's skills, process for addressing skill gaps, and an approach for delivering effective performance feedback. The framework that has been chosen for the organization will ease the growing pains of adding 20% more personnel (130 people) over the next year.…

She talks about where most of the people in the world live , where in the world it’s the best to be born & who are the wealthiest people in the world & where they live. The author's uses anecdotes to begin the article. This is present in all of the articles that i have read. For example in the beginning of "Thrift Shop Hero", the author describes Ben Haggarty sitting in on an Alcoholics Anonymous of his fears of relapsing. The article on Rihanna begins with her walking into a comedy club in West Hollywood and describing her as having a great time. Also in the "Miami Burning" article it opens with Diddy's Breakfast Club Pool Party which was the opening party of the Ultra Music Festival. This technique allows for the author to effectively grab the reader's attention as well as make the reader feel as if they were present at these events.…

The article that I found is called “Black educators fired from private Manhattan preschools because of race: suit”. The article is about five African American women that filled a lawsuit against their employers because of race discrimination. These women worked as educators at a private Manhattan preschool and were fired between 2010 and 2013 after the private preschool brought in a new head administrator named Renee Bock. They claimed they worked in a hostile environment and that after getting fired they were substituted by white educators. They accused Renee Bock because before she got the new position all the five educators reports showed that they all have satisfactory work evaluations, had experience and were qualified for the job. Most of them had been working there for years and were fired for senseless reasons. They suited the private school for lost wages and benefits as well as compensation for emotional suffering.…
