It is quiet unclear to me if Mr. Reteche felt the same way to Zita. And the letters which he kept on receiving during his stay made me think that those were from his left loved in the city. And it gave me an idea that obviously, his past lover (if my assumption was right) was also named “Zita” which reminded him everytime he saw Zita, “He started pronouncing it and then he stopped as if he had forgotten something and just stared and stared at the paper in his hand. I heard my name repeated three times through his half-closed lips, 'Zita. Zita. Zita.'”

My sentiment went to Zita, especially. Unspoken love is really terrible because one should assume a lot that would eventually lead to confusion and doubt and frustration. Zita, most especially is a girl and a girl usually assumes a lot. When she described her take when she and Reteche danced, “Reteche seemed so serious and so intent that she should learn quickly; but he did not deceive her, for once she happened to lean close and she felt how wildly his heart was beating.” Of course, when a girl like Zita falls in love, she would assume a lot even the unnoticeable details. XD I wish Reteche at least told her about his feelings (if there is even any).

I wish I could articulate my impression on this notes in an orderly manner but maybe because I am too engaged with the story that I am also floating like what Zita felt for uncertainty and unclear assumptions. XD

And when Reteche received again a letter delivered by Turong, he tore the unopened letter and gather them to connect the torn pieces. Zita seemed to take it as confusing for she asked, “"Why do you tear up a letter if you must put it together again?" Reteche’s answer was r

In A.B Yehoshua’s novel,The Lover, a chain of first person monologues are described. These monologues are set up in a mixture of flashbacks and conflicts that the characters undergo. This unique structure gives the novel a special meaning towards its description of the characters, and the story itself. For example, the character Asya is described to be a very hardworking independent woman. But, she has a odd relationship with her husband, Adam, who is a diligent man in charge of a successful mechanics garage. Throughout the story Adam and Asya never, hug never kiss, and they barley speak to one another. Meaning that this structure lets The Lover symbolize the loneliness and insufficient amount of recognition towards each of the characters. For instance, Daffi, the daughter of Asya and Adam, is a teenage girl in lack of attention. So, because of her parents barely paying any type of attention to her, she spends her time wandering the streets most of the day trying to keep herself productive by either stalking people or just walking around. After awhile, she then begins to connect with her fathers worker, Na’im, who also is alone and has no attention from anyone, and in the end they both fall in love. This basically shows how this novel details the meaning of loneliness and the importance of love.…

In "The Things They Carried," we read that the Vietnam War was closely associated with the physical, psychological, and emotional problems that the soldiers dealt with. This novel incorporated many different outlooks on the things the soldiers carried, dealt with, and were forced to adapt to. It is difficult to understand all the processes they had to go through and they had to overcome. Sometimes it is very difficult to be fully focused if you have committed a mistake in war and that is one of the reasons why a lot of soldiers carry those emotions that will never let go and will never forgive themselves for forgetting about their responsibilities. We sometimes have the wrong perspective about war because we always think that war is only about guns and killing people and protecting our country. However, we don’t realize what they have to suffer and what they have to face with. Many soldiers develop psychological and emotional problems that can affect in their lives.…

The narrator seems very out of touch with the physical world she lives in and her emotional world. She says, “Took a walk in the light-manufacturing district, where everything’s been converted” (381). It is evident that the narrator has been removed from the public. She is unaccustomed to the newness as she says she saw strange things. She talks about her kids with a particular distance as well: “Wandered away, then they wandered back” and “They’re vague, you know, they tell you things in a vague way” (381). She repeats the words “wander” and “vague” twice showing her inability to describe their actions in more ways than one. It is clear that she is out of touch with her emotions about them. These quotes are informal. She speaks to a person in specific (“you”) and doesn’t use beginnings to her sentences, making them choppy and…

“Accursed creator! Why did you form a monster so hideous that even you turned from me in disgust? God, in pity, made man beautiful and alluring after his own image; but my form is a filthy type of yours - more horrid even from the very resemblance. Satan had his companions, fellow demons to admire and encourage him; but I am solitary and abhorred.” This is the cry of Frankenstein's monster in the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Throughout the book, Shelley’s work reflects her personal psychology, along with her psychological states. Shelley’s psychological matters such as repressions, dreams and desires float consciously and unconsciously throughout the book. Therefore, in some ways, Frankenstein can be viewed as an autobiographical work rather than a novel.…
