My sentiment went to Zita, especially. Unspoken love is really terrible because one should assume a lot that would eventually lead to confusion and doubt and frustration. Zita, most especially is a girl and a girl usually assumes a lot. When she described her take when she and Reteche danced, “Reteche seemed so serious and so intent that she should learn quickly; but he did not deceive her, for once she happened to lean close and she felt how wildly his heart was beating.” Of course, when a girl like Zita falls in love, she would assume a lot even the unnoticeable details. XD I wish Reteche at least told her about his feelings (if there is even any).
I wish I could articulate my impression on this notes in an orderly manner but maybe because I am too engaged with the story that I am also floating like what Zita felt for uncertainty and unclear assumptions. XD
And when Reteche received again a letter delivered by Turong, he tore the unopened letter and gather them to connect the torn pieces. Zita seemed to take it as confusing for she asked, “"Why do you tear up a letter if you must put it together again?" Reteche’s answer was r
