Filipino Values and Entrepreneuship
CHRISTIAN VALUES AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
1. God owns everything
When we recognize that everything belongs to God and we are privileged to have the opportunity to cherish the gifts he gives us, we experience the Utmost joy and can be utilized in the best way to advance His kingdom.
(1 Chronicles 29:11), (Psalm 24:1)
2. God controls everything
God is in ultimate control of EVERYTHING. None of us can do a better job by trying to take control of the outcomes ourselves. Our role is to be obedient, humble ourselves to his authority and watch him perform the miracles.
(1 Chronicles 29:12) Psalm 135:6, Isaiah 48:17)
3. Exercise stewardship
We are responsible for building and operating our businesses in a way that glorifies God, produces profit and supports the work of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 4:2)
4. Demonstrate a servant attitude

When we work, we should work with joy, work hard, and work as if for God (See #2) We shouldn’t work this way to impress anyone but God, but when others see us, they should be impressed by our work ethic, integrity and positive attitude. (Ecclesiastes 5:19, 2 Thes. 3:10, Acts 13:2 John 9:4 Col 3:23)

5. Seek counsel
From Scripture, Godly People, The Lord We need regular communication with God through studying scripture, prayer and other Godly people who care about our success and will hold us accountable to Him, our families and operating our businesses with integrity and success.
(Isaiah 48:17, Proverbs 12:15)

6. Treat employees favorably
Our greatest opportunities to be a witness of Christ may be with employees. Just as your job or business is your God-given opportunity to serve God’s kingdom, we should encourage our employees to offer their best by involving them in the clearly communicated vision of the company for which you exercise stewardship for Him.
(Luke 10:71Tim 5:18, Job 31:13-14)

7. Lead like jesus
We are all leaders. Our faith dictates we lead by the greatest example who ever walked on the earth

Wayne Grudem wrote the book ‘Business for the Glory of God,’ this book is based on biblical teachings. The book discusses issues such as ownership, productivity, employment, commercial transactions, profit, money, inequality of possessions, competition, borrowing and lending, attitudes of heart and effect on world poverty from a biblical standpoint, each are “fundamentally good and provides many opportunities for glorifying God but also many temptations to sin.” (Grudem, 2003, p. 19) Grudem claims that business can glorify God. He states “I am going to argue that many aspects of business activity are morally good in themselves, and that in themselves they bring glory to God—though they also have great potential for misuse and wrongdoing.” (Grudem, 2003, p. 12) He consistently defends the use of private property, profit and competition for the moral good as opposed to the moral neutral or evil. In each chapter he shows not only how business can be used to glorify God, but how it could also be misused and become sinful.…

One often fails to notice the many opportunities given in business that can bring glory to God. Wayne Grudem writes Business for the Glory of God to show how business is fundamentally connected to bringing glory to God. The book is by no means a complete resource for the Christian businessman or woman, but gives the reader an introduction to some of the very important topics that are relevant in culture. The book is short but is filled with the biblical philosophy and theology in business. Wayne Grudem does not write the book to concentrate on ways businesses can contribute to churches, but the aspects of business that imitate and can bring glory to God. Two subjects in this book will be examined. These two subjects, money and inequalities of wealth, are the focus of chapters six and seven and are of critical importance in a flourishing business model. Grudem writes with the businessperson in mind by keeping the chapters short and straight to the point all while presenting biblical truths that it fit in realm of business.…
