One time my friends and I volunteered to do a park clean-up because we all needed service hours for a school assignment. I remember towards the end of the day even though I was covered in dirt and sweat and also completely exhausted, I didn't seem to care. I was so focused on helping get the park clean I didn't mind all the pain and effort that would come from it; I completely lost all care for my own personal intentions and just wanted to make sure the park was clean. I learned from that experience more about myself than I ever expected and additionally my true intentions for volunteering. In the end, I didn't care about the service hours I achieve from volunteering, I was just proud that I helped the community out.
