Fired Social Media
Should what you say on social media (like Facebook/twitter) be grounds for getting fired from work or expelled from school? I would have to say yes because there’s a time and place for everything and social media is not the place for certain things. Social media has changed over the past few years. I remember when it was just Myspace and this was just like Facebook but basic you couldn’t really do much on it. Now you have social media sites such as snapchat, Instagram, meet me and many more. In my opinion, I do think one should get fired from their job because Facebook is outrages nowadays, parents are letting their children activate pages like Facebook snapchat and twitter. Three reasons why I believe that one should be fired for what they say on …show more content…

Because the statues that you make on any social media people can comment, like and stuff but children also be on social media and they see the things older people say on Facebook and if they using profanity then they are going to use profanity but if your employees and your manger you will fired so quickly because you shouldn’t be using that kind of language period even if you don’t have a job. Because some jobs look at your social media and they could be your friend on their and you would never know then the next minute your fired because of something you have posted on social media.
Finally, people be using social media to threaten the lives of others. People should definitely be fired I mean fired from their job because that’s absolutely out of control you should never threaten anybody on no social media site do you know you can go to jail because of that matter. I’ve literally had seen people get arrested just because they have threaten somebody on social media. So you better watch out because this isn’t no joke if you want to keep your job or stay in school in not get expelled because these social media’s are just going to get you in trouble and

It has come to my attention that employees are currently posting their comments and concerns regarding the company on Facebook and Twitter either from the company’s resources, or on their own time. Quoting this section on social media, “…personal opinions regarding the Company, should be wary of the danger that such opinions may imply inappropriate access to and dissemination of confidential, sensitive or proprietary information. Opinions concerning the Company that are expressed should clearly indicate that they do not reflect the opinion of the Company, its officers or management.” I understand social media is becoming a dominant force in advertising and expressing opinions, however you must be careful that your opinions do not help in destroying the company’s well known reputation. If you have a concern about the daily activities in your job, the best thing to do is approach management with your concerns and opinions in substitute of posting them on the internet. Our company values its employees and we encourage everyone’s opinions and suggestions because we are always looking for ways to make this company better. We would like our employees to have a trusting and open communication with management and feel that they can approach management with any type of…

On my first week of work, I was given a talk and shown a presentation based on the E-Safety policy. This presentation is rolled out across the school and shown during year group assemblies. Watching the presentation, I learnt about the measures that were in place at the school to ensure the protection of students and employees. Every computer in the school has a programme called “Securus” installed on it. Securus monitors the activity that occurs on each machine, ensuring that the content searched for is suitable for the age of the learners within our school. It also has a word filter, which means that if a student was to send an abusive email containing nasty, negative words, Securus would flag it up. A technician would be able to find out the perpetrator of the abuse and also the victim, to ensure the situation was resolved and the students were dealt with appropriately. Acklam Grange has a separate policy on “Social Networking” for staff members. Every employee has to read and sign the policy, which states aims such as “reinforcing the need to use social networking sites safely” and “safeguarding staff in connection with the inappropriate use of social networking sites”. It outlines that staff should not have any pupil added to their personal accounts, nor should they post information on these accounts relating to the workplace.…

The NLRB has made findings regarding the use of employee posts on Social Media sites to discipline or terminate those employees. Typically these cases occur when an employee posts negative information about their current employer or boss. Sometimes these are public and other times the employer uses spies or fake friending to see the Facebook page of the employee. Find at least one case or article online regarding this topic, and briefly explain the facts of the case, and the determination of the NLRB as to whether the employee was properly or improperly disciplined or terminated as a result of their use of Social Media to complain about, criticize, or publicly bash their company or boss.…

Every day, millions of people log on and use social media. There has been much discussion about whether or not people should be prosecuted for mean things said on the Internet. Regulations on social media postings should not be implemented. Even though people assume criminally prosecuting others for hurtful statements or opinions is an intelligent and well thought out idea, it isn't because it squanders taxpayer resources, abuses and infringes upon our First Amendment rights, and creates a dearth of personal responsibility.…

Social media in the workplace would generally be regarded as unacceptable by an employer with the exception of a position that required this type of social media as a part of the everyday working expectation. Employers typically frown on the use of personal use of social media in working hours as this is detraction from the expectation of the employer’s requirements. Social media like Facebook during working hours should be minimised even during lunch break and tea breaks. Typically these times are an opportunity for working associates to connect in a real world situation.…

Even though they are expressing their feelings they should know that they could be putting someone's life in danger depending on how hurtful the comment can be. People also have to keep in mind that everything you put on the internet it can be seen by the whole world and more than likely will stay on the internet. However it would make that person and the company he/she is working for look bad and if they would keep you after what you have said that would make the company seem like they are agreeing with that person and it would be bad for the company. It stated in the article of: Should what you say on social media be grounds for getting you fired, “ Social media can be a great way to foster conversations about an employee’s recent promotion or a company event.” Therefore those whom judge all the time should not even be posting things on…

Did you know that based on a poll conducted in the U.S in 2011 one million children were harassed, threatened, or experienced any other forms of cyber bullying in the past year. You might want to ask yourself, have you ever bullied someone online whether it was intentional or not? Researchers say that social networks online can bring out your negative side. Some people say Facebook makes it easier to be mean to people because sometimes you don’t see the impact of what you write. I do agree that Facebook and other social networks can make people mean and hurtful because they are behind a computer screen and not face to face.…

With technology being part of our daily life expressing yourself has become even easier and lets you be heard by so many people. Not everyone but most of the people use social media as a way to connect with friends and colleagues. Websites like Facebook and Twitter are like worldwide public forum where something you say can be heard by hundreds or thousands of people, especially when there’s some heated debated going on about some hot topic. Times like these are when you have to be careful what you say. Yes, it is a great right to express yourself freely but sometimes people forget that what they say can offend others and make them look bad in the long run. Alexandra Wallace is a perfect example. A UCLA student that last year posted a video on YouTube ranting about Asians being disrespectful at the library and using their cellphones. The video became famous within days and with it came the ridicule. Many people on…
